'Don't Bother Asking Me': Bonnie Tyler 'Would Absolutely Never Become An X Factor Judge'
But the 'Total Eclipse' singer does praise One Direction for making the best of their success
Bonnie Tyler can be crossed off Simon Cowell's list of potential X Factor judges as the singer says she would “absolutely never” want to appear on the show and the TV boss “shouldn't even bother asking.”
The 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' chart-topper, who will be taking part in this year's Eurovision for the UK, isn't a huge fan of talent competitions and admits that she wouldn't be able to be “horrible” to contestants if she were to judge on the panel.
“Never, absolutely never. I'd have to say it as it is and if somebody was terrible, I'd say why did your mother let you come on this programme and make a fool of myself?,” Bonnie told EntertainmentWise when asked if she would like to become a judge on The X Factor.
“I wouldn't be horrible to anyone. Don't even bother to ask me because I'm not going to be on it.”
While she may not be an advocate of the show, Bonnie praises One Direction for managing to stay grounded so far but empathised with other contestants who have been unable to forge successful careers.
“They seem to be handling it extremely well, they've really got it together,” Bonnie told us. “I do feel sorry for some people that win and they have on hit and then they disappear, it's like, it must be awful for them. But, they've proved a point that it can be done.”
