Bonnie Tyler - Interview - 2013

Here is a new interview of Bonnie Tyler but according to the fansite Bonnie Tyler Community, she has claimed that some of the quotes from this article aren't real. She did not tell the following sentence:

"I am very popular in Europe. I don't know if One Direction are as popular as I am in many places in Europe."

Here is the interview:

BONNIE Tyler says she can win Eurovision because she's bigger than One Direction!

The Holding Out For A Hero star has even more fans across Europe than Harry Styles and his pals.

Years of block voting have resulted in a string of UK Eurovision flops in recent times, including last year when we came second from last.

But Welsh rocker Bonnie believes she has still got a big enough European fan base to walk away with the title for her tune Believe In Me.

Bonnie, 61, who had a UK and US hit with Total Eclipse Of The Heart in 1983, said: "I honestly think we have a good chance. I wouldn't have entered if I didn't think we could win. I am very popular in Europe. I don't know if One Direction are as popular as I am in many places in Europe. I know they are huge in America but I have loyal fans and hopefully they will vote for me. I'm lucky to have a following in France, Germany, Spain, Scandinavia. I have a great song and as good a chance as anyone." Last year Engelbert Humperdinck, 76, took just 12 points with Love Will Set You Free.

Blaming The Hump's flop on a poor choice of tune, Bonnie said: "He's got a good voice but the song wasn't good enough. The difference is we have a good song this year. It's written by a world-class song writer."

Bonnie was a huge international star in the 1980s.

She was asked to represent the UK in Eurovision 30 years ago but turned it down because she was too successful at the time.

She has just released album Rocks And Honey - her first in eight years - and is hoping the contest will help to sell her record.

Bonnie added: "I was asked to do it once before and I did say no. I didn't want to do it because I was number one in America and the UK but this feels like the "I didn't want to do it because I was number one in America and the UK but this feels like the perfect time. I have to admit I was a little bit concerned when I was first asked to do it. It's watched by 120million "It's watched by 120million people and it's a big deal. But I'll give it my best shot."

Rocks And Honey is out on May 6.
